Lula Mae Blocton: Book Signing and Conversation

In conjunction with their booth presentation, SKOTO Gallery will be celebrating the release of the 2nd edition of the publication ‘Lula Mae Blocton: African-American Experience through Color and Pattern’, a 225-page monograph with autobiographical text by the artist, accompanied with an insightful essay by the art historian and independent curator Dr. Barbara Stehle. Published by Palestine Books, the monograph presents an overview with full color images of Lula Mae Blocton’s work from the 1970s to the present.

The event book signing will be held on Friday, November 3rd from 2:30 to 3:00pm at the gallery’s booth, and will include a conversation between the artist and Barbara Stehle. The artist will also sign copies of the book at the event. If you are interested in attending, you can purchase a General Admission ticket to the fair here. RSVP for this event is not required.
